blaster sprocket help

Default blaster sprocket help

i have a 06 blaster i am 165 pounds i ride trails wide open areas the quad has the toomey b1 kit and 20-11-8 rear razrs and stock fronts i find that my fifth and sixth gear is very short but i love the fast get up so what should i change in order to make 5th and 6th alittle longer but still keep the real fast get up not sure which sprocket to change the front or the back and what size i noticed that alot of people run a 14tooth front but dont no what that does any help will be great thanks

well you cant make just 5th and 6th longer, changing sprockets will affect all gears, but you probably know that. going down teeth in the back makes the gears longer, and changing the back sprocket makes a less drastic change as opposed to the front. remember, more teeth in front=longer gearing, less teeth in back=longer gearing and vise versa.

You could go with a big bore kit or stroker kit to get that extra power on 5th and 6th. But like he said, sprockets change all the gears.

cool deal thanks for the help needed that problaay just going to change the front to a 14 and call it a day
