Does anyone know if theres a after market pipe that fits a 1978 Yamaha DT175, looking to make it sound alittle better. Like a FMF, any advice would be great.

FMF makes a universial silencer that fits good to the DT. Other then that you can shorten the pipe 20mm at the exhaust port.

 

I used to have a DT175 here in Omaha. Mine was red, wonder if it is the same bike? It was a long time ago, 12-14 years! It was very quick. Had a buddy going to trade school for small engines and rebuilt the motor. The instructor was a factory Yamaha mechanic at one time and worked in the motocross circuit. He did a few tricks and the bike would run with most 250 motocrossers, but not quite the suspension. Fun bike.
