Default yfz 450 wrist pin seizing

I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with there wrist pin seizing to the connecting rod due to a lack of oil. I heard there was a fix by machining an oil passage in the bottom end. Has anyone had this done? Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I have no rev box but always rev to the full potentencial ( not holding though) . I was at a small engine shop today and he had an 06 and 05 yfz in for repairs. the 05 showed lots of wear on the wrist pin and connecting rod and the 06 which had 10 hours on it already had wear on the pin and rod from the lack of oil

Ive never heard of modding a wrist pin :-/

My first thought would be it is running low on oil or your using the cheap/wrong kind of oil. Ive never heard of this post before.

Huh? Just about every yfz engine failure centers around this issue. The wrist pin seizes to the rod and the rod breaks. If I were running a lot of extended high rpm use on a YFZ, I would call around and get advise from professionals (reputable engine builders) and go from there.
