Default Warrior only works well with choke ON

My 2001 Warrior will not run right without the choke all the way on. If it is turned off, will not idle well and will backfire when given gas. I know this means it's running lean, but what do I do now? I did take the carb off already and cleaned it out with hogwash. I musn't have done a good job. Anyone have any advise? OH yeah, it is doing one other thing: when the choke is on, and it's idling, I will hear something click and the rpms will drop and then come back up?? Please help!!!!!!!!!

Make sure you totaly take the carb apart when you clean it. Atleast make sure you take out the fuel screw of the bottom and clean the passage really well. Set it to 2 turns out when you reinstall it Also, check on your air cut off valve. It's under a little cover with 3 screws on the right side of the carb (when sitting on the quad). If the rubber diaphragm in there is rotted out or somehow cloged it will cause all kinds of weird off idle problems.

Sometimes its the simple things in life wich we forget.. Clean or replace your airfilter. also your carb boot can be torn. spray a lil ether between the head and carb and if it revs up you got an air leak.
