Hey RaptorRRC;
How do u install a decompression valve? What is the process? Im having alot of problems with super high compression on my stock rappy and cant even get it to spin fast enough to start. I inspected the decompression setup and cant find anything wrong with it. I'd rather go with a regular one. Thanks.

Big Ray, RaptorRRC is Bob Craycraft with Craycraft Racing. If he can't help you I am sure he can point you in the right direction. Here is what I could find on Bob from a simple google search.....

Yeah My Raptor is doing the same.. slow to crank over. Also there is a loud tapping sound... I've read here that it could be the decompression pin. I read here as well as elsewhere there is an alternative to a decrompression setup. Any idea what that invovles?

Its crazy that you say it could be the decompression pin because the other night i tore into it and noticed that the decompression pin had pretty much had the tip sheared off. Ordered a new one for six bucks at the dealership. Cant wait to get it and have it up by Memorial Weekend!

BigRay let me know how that turned out. I may have to tear mine off and look at it again.. makes ya wonder where did that sheared peice go. Did yours make a ticking sound at idle?

I had one shear off as well. It was incorrectly installed. Make sure and double check proper operation upon assembly.

Im also wondering what the correct position is. Im installing it tomorrow night. I never found my sheared tip. I have magnetic drain plugs so hopefully its stuck to that. Fingers crossed!

Guys, it's been so long that I would not wanna give info on the exact setup for proper operation of the decompression mechanism. I know for a fact I have explained it on here after installing mine incorrect and having to go back in and redo it. Try a search under my user name and maybe decompression or decompression pin. Good luck.
