more raptor problems
#1
i have an 03 raptor with a fmf slip on with a quiet core and a k&n filter. a couple weeks ago i was racing a snow cross race when it just died. since then it will run good for a while then it acts just like it is out of gas. if i let it sit it will start back up and run for a while then start it all over again. I checked the jets, the floats, the petcock in the tank, and adjusted the valves. im not sure what is going on but need to get it going again any help would be appreciated. it has a full tank of gas and i also tried reserve.

Check your fuel cap vent..........
If it's clogged it will not allow the fuel to flow into the carbs........
Hope this helps

it seems like its fuel related, if i let it sit for anywhere from a minute on, and the longer i let it sit the longer it runs fine, it acts like its out of gas if it starts dying it will run all right as long as i back down the throttle untill its idling then it dies all together. I really appreciate every bit of info you guys give me.

It's a head scratcher for sure............
Did ya check the carb boots for tears in um???????????
Are the carbs seated in the boots all the way?????????
Did ya check the slide diaphragms, IE seated properly, tears or small holes in um?????????
Is the choke/enrichner working properly??????????? Sometime that spring breaks and the enrichner gets stuck....
Check the jets for clogs??????????
That's all i can think of off the top of my head. Let us know what ya find.

Possibly a rectifier problem. It's the thing under the back of the seat. Gets hot, stops working etc. Next time it quits, touch it, see if it feels hot. This is just a guess. Not sure how you'd go about checking it to be good or bad.
