Default Possible front end damage!!! Please Help

I Just bought my quad about 2 weeks ago, this weekend i went out with a couple of buddies to Occotillo Wells in Southern California. I was riding maybe 40 mph and hit a small dip that I did not see,it lifted my front end off the ground and when my two front wheels came back down, my front left wheel landed exactly on a small mound of dirt. in a split secondI thought, OK this can go 2 ways.

1) I might be able to ride right over it
2) Brace for impact because this is gonna hurt

unfortunately for me , my 2nd thought was confirmed.
As soon as my front left wheel hit the mound of dirt, it lifted the whole left side of my quad and i was thrown off.
the quad landed on the front right wheel and poped the wheel.
I towed my quad with a buddies, and took it to the repair shop near camp.
the guy told me the wheel was fine, it just came off the bead.
so he put some air in it and fixed it.no problem right?
wrong.
now my if my bars are perfectly straight , both front wheels are slightly angled
and its not riding the same.
I dont know much about quads yet, but if anyone can give me some advice on how to correct this proplem without having to take it to the repair shop, i would really appreciate it.
the repair shop is my last resort.
thanks.

I would say you can fix it buy messing with the alignment and are the bars bent or just to go strait the are tilted one way if so the alignment will cure that and just look for any thing that looks different form the other side slight bends height differences and so on.

You need to look for damage. could be a bunch of things. a arm, tie rod, steering stem/knuckle, anything connecting any of those items, you need to look for bent/cracked parts in the front suspension/ steering linkage, then we can give you better advice. i would start with figuring out exactally what it wrong with everything that is damaged, something damaged could pose a safety concern, trust me you dont wanna be riding and have something fail on you. anything worth doing is worth doing right, you just save yourself time/money in the long run.

i agree with lucasislight, if its somthing serious, it could result in a real doozie, try 60mph and your hub falling off, did it and it was no picnic, i still say it could be allignment, but you really need to take it to a real shop, i went to them lil shops out there and they are not all that profesional. if it isnt somthing serious and you spent alot of money on the shop bill, then atleast you know you wont lose your steering column the next time you tackle a small hill.

Just out of curiosity, do you guys know of any reliable shops near the Temecula area?
any idea how much the repair for it will be?
I got my quad from Temecula Motorsports, but im not sure if I should take it there, I dont want to get charged an arm and a leg.

before you go bringing it to a shop, i would find out what is wrong with it. maybe you can do the repair yourself for free, minus the cost of the part. the dealer will more than likely not even look at it without charging a ridiculous amount. if you dont think you can diagnose the problem try to find a few free opinions from friends or other resources. maybe snap a few pictures and post them?

The tie rods are usually the weak link on a front end. They will bend if you fart near them. You could probably replace it with a factory one for around $40 or get a heavy duty set for around $100. It shouldnt take over an hour to install. If your shop charges $45 an hour - $45 labor!
