Nope its not an R1 motor cut in half.. Sheesh.. they basically joined two 250f motors at the crank. Dirtwheels don't know chit about chit they just Pullin your wiener and you like it to much.

 

If they did come out with this engine it wouldn't be called a Banshee.
Banshee's are still made, just not sold in the USA.

edit: has anyone heard of or know anyone who had purchased a banshee in canada and brought it back to the States? i think it could be done (whether legally or illegally) but youi couldnt register it with your states RMV.
