i recently had my banshee running when i stopped the motor reved real high and wouldnt shut off i kept hitting the throttle and nothing happened so i turn both switches off and it kept running so i pulled the spark plug wires off and it still kept running so i shut the gas off jumped on it puit it in gear popped the clutch and it finally died i checked the slides on the carbs to see if they were stuck open and they werent they were moving fine then i pulled the plugs they looked a little rich i checked compression and both cylinders were at 135 psi only what happened now it starts and runs fine ??????????????????????????????

Runaway Idle usually points to an extremely lean condition. I've had this happen on my dirt bike and yeah, you're about ready to crap your pants trying to get it to shut off. My carb to airbox clamp was really loose and it was sucking air. Check for air leaks. I assume nothing carb related has been messed with lately...
Also check the throttle cable just to make sure it's in good working condition.
