Runaway Idle usually points to an extremely lean condition. I've had this happen on my dirt bike and yeah, you're about ready to crap your pants trying to get it to shut off. My carb to airbox clamp was really loose and it was sucking air. Check for air leaks. I assume nothing carb related has been messed with lately...

Also check the throttle cable just to make sure it's in good working condition.

Mmm, I doubt it's anything to do with the way the gas was mixed. If no oil was mixed in at all, then it'd actually run richer. If too much oil was mixed in, it's going to run a little leaner than normal, but not enough to cause something like that...

The only way to have a runaway is by having an air leak. You have an air leak somewhere. Could be a lot of places, but you do have an air leak somewhere.
