Why is no one going with the gyt-r exaust???????????????????

Tim,
Good question. It looks super cool, BUT when I asked about it, one of the motor-cross guys at the dealer said that the fiber breaks down over a period of time, especially around the canister rivets where heat saturates. This eventually dries out and expands the fibers, causing the end and front cap to become loose and rattle. He said it turns color as well. In my opinion, though, if power gains were confirmed it'd be worth it for the money. Subsequently, I'm in the same "Choose the right exhaust phase"! Might want to consider the aluminum. If anyone has any different long term info on carbon fiber, please share.

Matt,
I've drooled at the looks of the FMF stainless header and Power Core IV silencer Ad on December's DW, and ofcourse, they claim about the same power gains as the Big gun. BUT, if you guys know something I don't please, PLEASE save me some $$$$!! I've been really dissappointed in the FMF Tech Support, since it's already cost me a 5th of the price of an exhaust system in damn phone calls. Yes, it's the holiday season, but tell someone that instead of leading them to believe their call is next; yeah the next 1500 calls later!! Anyway, enough whinning, the fact is that the I have better IN on Yamaha product availability, but I need some convincing on power gain comparisons. Any dyno info? Any projections on Sparks?

I picked up the Carbon Fiber silencer and it actually felt like it weighed more than the aluminum. It looks up close like plastic.
These exhausts are trick. Both end caps are all billet, no steel. No other aftermarket exhaust can boast that. And they are way louder than the FMF and just as loud as the Big Gun. I have heard all of these.
I was skeptical of buying the GYTR exhaust, thinking it would be a "pretty" stock pipe. But it is far from that. It is a full-on race pipe.
I don't know alot about the megaphone (Graydon), whether its a top-end or bottom to mid. The supertrapp (CT, E-Series,etc) seems to be adjustable by gaining or lowering the back pressure using the discs, giving top or bottom end. The Pass-Thru (Big Gun, Sparks, Pro Circuit, etc) seems to give to the top.

Hey Guys,
Does anyone know who's making these canisters...according to White bros., they made some for Yamaha last year...Anyway, I'm going to start with the Gyt-r silencer and go from there. Please keep posting results and share some experience in my "Best Raptor Exhaust Available" posting, so everyone can see this...Thanks for the info!

I just put on my aluminum GYT-R exhaust and it sounds awesome at idle and when you rev it, its EXTREMELY LOUD. I havent got to ride it yet because its too late and my neighbors would kill me. Also there was no jetting information with mine like someone else said earlier.

Waiting for my GYT-R(Carbon Fiber) to arrive.
Then going to a FMF A.O.F Ignition, I remember
how well it did with My 426F, that a pipe and
rejetting made the YZ really haul, at first I
tried the A.O.F itself, it made quite a difference.
That will be that for Motor mods, will most likely
look toward suspension in the future, as far as
the body roll, Full Preload on the front shocks and a couple #'s more air in the tires(all), reduced that.
But a little more travel would be nice.
Go Hard
And Fly,
but don't
Fly Away!
