I am purchasing a new ATV within the next two months. I have decided between one of these two. I have never owned either and was hoping on some feed back.

I will be using the machine for fun and hunting.

Thanks

I have a yamaha and love it. My friend has a arctic cat and loves his. My suggestion is to go to a dealer that allows rides and ride them both. That way you will be comparing your personal preferences instead of someone else's. all the dealers in my area allow test rides, but i don't know if it is like that everywhere. Good Luck and happy 4 wheelin.

I love my Kodiak. The AC just got a great writeup in the mags. It also has 92 more cc's. But it weighs 120 lbs more, is a thousand dollars more, and has a Suzuki engine. They seem relatively dependable. It comes with Titan tires, instead of the Kodiaks DunFlats, which is the most miserable tire out there. I'm sure the Kodiak would be all over it in the handling department. If the bigger motor is worth the thousand $ extra, go for it. If you want a dependable, torquey, very nimble on the trails quad, for a grand cheaper, go with the Kodiak.

I was at a Independent Atv Shop the other day and was talking to the owner who is the mechanic also.
He has was a mechanic at the local Honda dealership for 10 years and now has been running his own business. He works on alot of Atv's in this area and he said that the most reliable Atv's are the Yamaha's and Honda's........he also said that the Suzuki was the worst of them all, and as you know Artic Cat has a Suzuki motor.
Don't really know myself, just was I was told.
Thought you might like to know.

Don't know of AC, Kodiak: Rear brakes duds, Dunflops duds, oil filter $$$, buy a filter wrench, Seat unfriendly to oversized dudes on all day duty, some say the choke freezes, mine don't, front bumper ain't a Honda be careful what you choose to smack and be prepared to straighten, if belt gets water, check air vent tube on front of motor, can pass lots of water, test ride all you can!

Go forth and ride.
