Default Grizzly 660 top speed loss

Hi all,
I have a 2003 Grizzly 660 when I first got it, it would hit 70 MPH with no problem, currently the best I can get out of it is 60MPH and it takes about a mile to attain that speed. My machine only has 950 miles on it, I have taken it to my mechanic for a tune up and a belt replacement, but there has not been any improvement in performance. What could be causing such a severe loss in performance?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Did they REALLY change the belt?
Sounds like a worn belt. A little wear makes a big differance!

What are your riding conditions? You would know if your mech changed the belt cause they are almost a 100 bucks! Other than the grease gotten on your clutchs, you could have worn sheaves.

I am pretty sure they changed the belt as they have given me the old belt, I had a couple of other things done and my bill was $384. My riding conditions are just trails and roads, I never take my machine in the mud, and don't pull anything with it. This loss in performance is disapointing to say the least.

If you have gotten water into the clutch housing you might have diluted the grease in the primary clutch enough to throw it out which will cause a loss of power on top end.
