Default 97 Warrior - Carb problems?

All,

I just got my 97 out after not riding it for over a year. I realized the intake tube (connects the carb to the head) was split, so I ordered a new one. I replaced the clutch cable at the same time. I rode it for a weekend with the intake tube split and had to run with the choke on. Other than having to pull it behind another quad to start it, it ran pretty good. Now that I have replaced the tube I still have to pull start it. It runs pretty good once the RPM's are up, but won't idle, and you have to keep giving it gas to keep it running. Given how well it runs top end, I assume I have a carb problem. I have never rebuilt a carb or even messed with jetting, so I am totally clueless.

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction to get to the bottom of this issue.

Maybe your new intake boot didn't seal well and you have a vaccum leak.

yea the intake boot can cause a vacuum leak. also you might want to take apart the carb and look at the idle Jet. it has a very small diameter and can get clogged so easy. i actually use a wire from a bread tie to clean my idle jet out and flush it with carb cleaner. mine would not stay idle and i had to clean it. i might suggest putting on a inline fuel filter to help reduce this in the future if thisis your problem. good luck!!
