Default Need Some help with Carb( Fixed! )

My 1999 Warrior has a problem. Gas seems to keep coming out of the overflow tube that runs off of the carb and out by the rear shock. It drips out pretty quickly. Enough to make a puddle in 20-30 seconds. I took the carb apart and replaced the spring under the needle hoping that might help and it didn't. Does anyone know what I need to do to stop this. Everything in the carb looked pretty clean to me.

Oh, and can I just pinch that tube off? Probably a dumb question. LOL

You need to adjust your float or replace the spring in it. Heres a pic.

Ahh, Well I put a new spring under the pin, but when I pulled my bottom cover the only thing that came down was the pin, gasket and of course bottom cover. Let me go pull everything apart again and I'll report back.

Okay, everything looks fine on it. I noticed the needle feels like it pokes through some type of rubber hole when it is pushed up. Is this normal. I wish I could figure this out.

May I suggest to reconsider that the float needle and seat may be the issue not just the needle.

Since the carb is off the machine maybe test the needle and seat for leakage.
Having the carb siting in the mounted position on the bench.
With the bowl off and a tube connected to the fuel inlet neatly get some fuel down that tube (fuel line) as you hold the float up to seal the seat, see if it leaks.
No fuel should flow when the float is pressing the needle into the seat.

If it does leak, relace the needle and seat, with a new set...
If it does not then maybe adjust the tab a little so the float sets the needle higher.

Sounds like the float is out of spec. A shop manual should give you the correct height for the float to be set at. Don't just guess at it. Mine calls for 17mm, at 16mm it runs like crap and at 18mm it runs like crap too. You need to measure it and set it properly.
Get some spray carb cleaner and spray everywhere, every little hole etc.

Problem: Overflow and fuel level fluctuations
Condition Remedy
Float valve worn - damaged 1. Replace valve
Float valve spring broken 2. Replace spring
Float not working properly 3. Adjust float height - replace
Float valve dirty 4. Clean valve
Float height too high - too low 5. Adjust float height

Fixed it today! Man am I happy. I replaced the needle and seat and sprayed everything with carb cleaner. There was debris between the needle and seat, but I replaced it because I had bought a new one already. Runs great now and doesn't leak a bit of gas.
