the fastest machines
I would have to say the: #1 525 Outlaw.. #2 Renegade 800.... #3 toss-up between...... YZF450/YZF700/TRX450/KFX450/LTR450/DS650. The 525 Outlaw hardly gets exposure even though it can whip up on any stock quad. The #3 spot are all so very close it's hard to say which one is faster.

How many times do people have to be told stock atvs dont really do 80 plus mph. You are not on the same planet as people who know what they're talking about. The other day some guy I met on the trail told me a Raptor 660 weighs 600lbs. He was no different then those of you who think stock machines go 80 plus mph. As a matter of fact, in the most recent ATV Rider magazine stated the top speed of an Outlaw 525 was 65mph, followed by a 700 Raptor at 64mph, Can Am Renegade as going 63mph, Honda 450R at 63mph, Suzuki Quadsport as 60mph, and a KFX700 at 57mph. I for one can confirm my Renegade had 69mph displayed on the speedometer going across a frozen lake so I gues it's reasonable to assume all of those speeds are about 6mph shy of what they really can do. If that's the case, the fastest machine as tested in ATV Rider would still only be the Outlaw 525 at 71 mph, not 81MPH. Not even close. If an Outlaw 525 goes 81mph, than my 07 450 Wolverine will go 62mph and I know it just wont do that.
