#1
What a fun time to be in the market for a new utility atv. Sold my old one last month buying new this spring. Yamaha coming out with new grizzley 660 watercooled independent rear suspension quad. Not sure what time of year it will be out at dealers. I've heard late spring. Anyone else have any info??? What fun it will be this coming spring.

Somone else wrote about in the forum too, they said that the dealer told them about it.
He indicated it was 660CC, liquid, with a diff lock for the front. Now i hear a independent suspension. Wow, what else is there, this will forsure make it the #1 quad, it is already near the top.

A griz with IRS will weigh less than the SP500HO. I have seen nothing solid on a 700cc V-twin Sportsman. I thought Polaris was going to put the V-twin in a sports quad? I wonder how much over 700 pounds a SP700 V-twin would weigh?
Yamaha is making a step in the right direction. The "new" Griz should easily out perform the SP500HO. A locking 4wd system, now thats true 4wd.
This is all conjecture at this point since no details have been release. The only info so far is a paragraph in the February Dirt Wheels magazine.

I would not say easily right now a regular 500 SP will beat the Grizz in every thing but straight line racing and the HO took care of that, the SP already has a great independent suspension system and a top speed of over 60 mph, the Grizz actually is only catching up with the 660 and the independent suspension. It should now be on par maybe a little better if the suspension is up to the task of the 660 liquid. but if it is 3 wheel drive, in the mud the Polaris will east it up. all the power and suspension in the world won't help it one bit if one of front wheels is spinning and the other is sitting still.
