Backfiring? Sputtering?

I have a 2003 Raptor 660. After a wreck last weekend, whenever I start my quad it runs very poorly. It idles ok, but when given some throttle, it sputters, backfires and it won't rev. It will drive, but at like 2 mph and it sputters and backfires the whole time. We noticed, the carb was not fully inside the joint boot to the motor and was possibly sucking air. I found the boot was ripped and replaced them. Still no luck. It's still doing the same thing and I can't figure it out. any advice?

Thanks a lot for the help. After I had wrecked and replaced the clutch lever I never really tightened the part of the perch with that switch in it. I was focusing more on the carb. So after over 200 dollars in parts trying to fix a carb/ air flow problem, it was just a stupid switch. I feel like an idiot. I read more about this problem in other threads and other forums.
Thanks a bunch guys. shes running beautiful again. So looks like I will be racing next weekend after all.
