Cheap Stator Replacement?
I had a stator go bad recently, and had to buy a new one. OUCH!@ Those things are pricey.
My father found an electronics shop that claim that they can redo the windings on the old one, so that it works like new. They would just basically be rebuilding my bad one for less than $100. That's a lot better than the price of a new one.
I should have the "rebuilt" one this weekend, and be a ble to do some testing on it.
Anyone ever heard of this being done? Seems like it would be a big break for most guys to not have to buy a new one. The only downfall would be if it took the shop a week or so to do the job, your ATV would be down for a couple of days.
