warrior/raptor 350 oil cooling.
#1
I saw on FST's website they had a oil cooling kit for the warrior/raptor 350. What is it and what does it do? My raptor runs hot even with the alcohol and i'd like it to run cooler.

First of all, why run race fuel in a 10:1 motor? you could run 87 octane with that low of a compression, or just premium if you want. There is no gain running that unless you had a 12:1 or higher motor. To answer your question, the oil cooler kit has you drill and tap into the clutch cover and run a fitting and line to an oil cooler, it then routes the cooler oil to the top of the motor to the cam bearings, which tends to run the hottest in an air cooled motor. If you don't like the idea of drilling, you can use a Big Bear oil filter cove with the line fittings on it and mount your own cooler, finding parts on ebay or the salvage yard, for a lot less money. Either one will work fine, depends on your preference.

I feel there is a gain from race fuel to not. I do run premium along with the race fuel. the mix might not be 50/50 but there is probably 40% 112 in there. =) thanks for the info though.
