Default 02' Blaster problem

I have just redid the top end on my sons blaster, and now it seems that it gets hot (top end) quicker, maybe its just me. The exhaust is making like a popping noise too. I checked the spark plug, and it looks like its not running lean (dark gray color). The cylinder was just honed, was not bored. I tried a bigger jet but it bogged at low rpm. So i went back to the mikuni 250 jet. runs better though. Any ideas? Or should i not worry about it, any help is appreciated.

The popping is probably an exhaust leak on the front of your jug. Mine did that untill I tightened them, after almost loosing my exhaust on a ride. I'm not sure on your heat issue though. If you just honed it it shouldn't run hotter. More power means more heat though.

O.k. I will check that. I did replace that gasket, since it came with the kit. Its a pro circuit 304 exhaust with pipe. Even with an after market pipe, it should seal like a stock one right ? Thanks man!

No problem. Just an educated guess.
