Default Wolverine top speed 37mph?!?!

Ok, so now my wolverine 450 tops out at 37 mph. It use to go 58mph but not anymore. It just started doing this. I just changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter and it did not help. The bike rides fine but just tops out at 37mph. Any clue? I take it in the mud all the time and its an automatic.

I wonder if the belt is shot or slipping.

yeah, the width of the belt is what you got to look for or measure. Something is not right with your fourwheeler man. You leave the parking brake on?

Cant leave the parking brake on with these machines. sounds like the belt is slipping and or the grease got thrown out of the primary.

Pull off the belt cover, probably has the grease thrown out of it ( I had it happen to me, go to yamaha and buy some grizz grease to repack your primary.)

The weird thing is that My wolvy has never leaked any water in the belt cover and I have had it over the handlebars in water. My problem developed as a result of improper cleaning of a gasket when i did the clutch kit(left a few chunks of old gasket in there.

Somthing went wrong with your new cluch kit job. Get back in there and check it out. Even if you get water in a belt drive it evaporates quickly and causes no real problem.
