buy a stock 700 Grizz. and you will have the same sized engine with less work.</end quote></div>
Exactly, if you are not racing doing engine mods like that is border-line pointless... Simply buy a bigger quad...

Kind of lame responses... (yeah, don't work on your bike. Sell it a buy another...)
I'm sorry I have no experience with a Griz kit, but spending a couple hundred dollars on a big bore kit should give the bike some boost in power. If rebuilding due to engine worn out, you have to spend the money anyhow to do the top end.
If your bike is in need of a rebuild, I'd suggest doing it.
If your bike is fine, then only adding the 686cc high compression piston may not be worth it (especially if you are paying someone to do it). For more power, you'll want to consider adding a hot cam when dropping in the piston.
Simpler changes (if you haven't done this) is intake, exhaust and transmission mods.

All the top end stuff for the raptors change over to the 660 grizz. 70+hp and 50+tq is not a problem with correct work.
Honestly the rod is the same weak one in the raptor. I would HIGHLY RECCOMEND replacing it before considering adding alot of power to it. The guy I buy from has been building these engines ( they were introduced on motorcycles first) long before they were available on atv's. Tim can easily set you up with a +4mill stroker crank with the strongest rod on the market. Boring your stock cylinder to 102mm (the max bore) will give you 686 cc's add the stroker you have 720cc. Resleeve the cylinder and bore the cases to accept the 105mm you have a 760. The list goes on up to +8mil 106 bore. I have a 794cc (+6 106bore) raptor. barkerexhaust is the website.
A bump in engine size along with somthing like a stage 2 hot cams for the raptor will make a huge difference. The exhaust is really corked up on the stock stuff. If you want more info pm me
