2000 Kodiak- won't stay running
I have a 2000 Yamaha Kodiak (300 or 350) and it wont stay running. Start it up runs about 2 minutes and shuts down must sit for several hours before it will start again for another 2 minutes. Fuel is getting to carb. Cleaned carb. ATV will run when 2+2 is sprayed directly into the card. Thanks for any info.

When it quits running, pull the spark plug, ground it to chassis and verify spark. If No spark, change plug. If still no spark, check plug wire and change the ignition module. If you HAVE spark, check fuel path to engine. Vent hoses, fuel filters, etc.
I'm no there, but it sounds to me like the fuel float in the carb is sticking. When it quits, open the carb bowl drain plug. If NO fuel dribbles out, the float is sticking.
