Default Yamaha Warrior woes and questions

Hi everyone, i'm needing some information and help with my warrior.

I bought a used 98 Warrior and rode it a couple of times. Then it got to the point that it had no spark and would not start. I bought a new stator from RMStator and installed it. It backfired, sputtered, and booged out till i realized the choke was still on. Took the choke off and it ran like a dream. Rode it for about 10 minutes and put it up. Two days later, went back and cranked it and now it wont accelerate at all. It cranks and idles fine but as soon as i hit the gas it sputters, pops, and boggs out. It almost seems like the choke is on and acts like it did when i first installed the stator and forgot to take the choke off. But the RPM's are changing when i engage/disengage the choke so i think the choke is working. I even drove it up the road and as long as i dont touch the throttle it will idle and go. I would think dirty carb but like i said, it ran fine when i first installed the stator.

Any ideas?

I also have a question about the stator replacement. When i removed the cover to get to the stator there was oil. I saw gears inside the case so i assume there needed to be oil in there for those gears. But i also found it odd that the oil would have soaked down the stator. Is there supposed to be oil in there? Is that the same oil as the engine oil? Is there a certain ammount/type of oil that goes on that side or does it just travel from the other side of the block when you add oil to the normal place?

I would appreciate any and all the help i can get. I am so eager to go riding and cant get this darn thing to run!

parking brake is coming on, check the assembly on the brake caliper and push it forward... see if it runs good then, then get a PB block off plate and get rid of the PB...

the oil travels throguh the entire case, no need to put more in,

Wow Speedy, you are so freakin Awesome!!!!!!!!!

I haven't checked it yet but i am about 100% sure you are right. The part i didnt mention was the rear caliper was stuck so i removed it and am having it fixed. I figure i would just drive it around the house while it was being fixed and just use the front brakes.

Can't wait to try it out tomorrow!!!

Thank you soooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!

ditch the rear brake all together? or just the PB?

The problem was i was trying to put new brakes on the back and couldnt get the caliper to slide on the bracket.

PB, ya the slider pins are **** to freezing if not greased, i had it happen on my warrior, i wound up with a caliper that had tapped out bolt holes for the pads, custom made bolts for the pads, i run 1 worn out pad( little bit of pad left) and 1 new pad, works good :-D
