Default Handle Bars

I just put a new set ot pro taper se handle bars on my machine, and i was wondering about the black spacer between the throttle housing and the front brake that came on the stock bars, I put this on the new bars but it seems to be to close in, into the middle of the bars. Do i have to have it on there, what is its sole purpose, i know its a spacer, but is there some bigger reason as to why its there? i dont want to alter anything that drastically to where I'm removing stuff i shouldnt be for something else. Will I notice it drastically if i take this spacer out?
Your input would be very insightful. Thanks.

I took mine off when i put on my hand guards, It's just a spacer.I dont see any reason why it should be there or to worry about taking it off

It's a spacer to keep your front brake lever and throttle assembly spaced the correct distance apart. If you have these too close together or not angled right, the brake lever will hit the throttle when you put on brakes. You don't need it, it's just for idiots who don't need to be installing brake components..

Cool, I will take it off, I dont like the position of the brake on the new bars, I thought it may have had something to do with the actual brake lines or something. Thanks guys.
