HOW OFTEN DO YOU RIDE YOUR 4X4 IN 2X4 MODE??
Hey guys I've been looking around and I'm so thankful for your input on your my other post (which machine to buy). But I do have an interesting post and poll I'd like to see what everyone has to say about. The topic here is * HOW OFTEN DOES YOUR 4X4 STAY IN 2X4 MODE??* The reason I ask this is because I'm curious as to just how often you guys with a 4X4 have to use it or if you find out 95% of the time on trails and riding you never use it unless you just decide you want to go in a 3 ft mud hole? Then for the sport quad people out there.. The questions is** how often do you guys get stuck on trails and such and wish you had a 4x4??

I dont usually get stuck at all. I dont go in deep mudholes but play in the mud alot.
I got stuck once this day and took about 2 minutes to lift the back out and that was when I still had the stock tires.

if i had a 4x4 i would probably leave it in 2x4 unless i am some sloppy mud... then depending on if i am sliding it around.. i'd probably be in 4x4..
i have gotten stuck MANY times on my warrior though, most not that bad but a couple where i really shouldn't of tackled them without 4x4

I guess it really depends on the terrain you ride. Some days I don't need 4X4 at all the next day I am in diff lock more than 2wd. I definitely have more miles logged in 2X4 as that is how I travel roads and fast trails but I would probably say it is very close in elapsed time.
I will differ with speedy on needing a 4X4, at least for here. There is no way you'll make some of the terrain without it.

I agree, some times 2wd is not enough, sometime 4wd is not enough, sometimes diff lock is not enough and sometimes a winch is not enough to get you unstuck.

I ride in 2x4 mode on gravel roads or on pavement when I'm going to town or something but when I'm running around on the farm or on the trails it goes into 4x4 mode. Even when the trails are dry just having the front end pulling helps keep the rears from breaking loose and spinning and tearing up the trail. It just makes getting over logs, through ruts and ravines easier and again keeps the trail from getting so torn up. When they're YOUR trails you're more concerned about maintaining them and not tearing things up unnecessarily.
