I have a Warrior and I was putting new pads on the front brakes and my friend was over and he kept useing the brake lever while the pads were out of the caliper, and now i cant get the piston back in. I have the disk brake tool to push the piston it but it wont fit.

Any ideas on why it wont go back in??

First, I have to side with Straightupdahill, I would have given the moron on the brake lever a couple of good thumps on the brainpan. What probably happened is the piston got slightly tilted in the bore,the best thing to do would be to remove the brake line, take the caliper off the quad, put an air gun to the brake line port,and blow the piston out, make sure the seal on the base is not rolled or pinched, and lube it with some fresh brake fluid, push it in straight, taking care not to force it if it binds up,it will resist a little,but once the seal goes past the edge, it should push right in. Then you will have to hook it back up and rebleed it. Then when you are done with all that and have the pads in , be sure to give your buddy a few more thumps on the melon for screwing around, and offer to "help" him when he is fixing his quad ( maybe a handfull of bolts down the intake port ).

 

Thanks I ll give that a try. And the piston does look crooked in the caliper. But know I have to get a new master cylinder cause the other one broke.

how did it break?? send it my way and i'll fix it for you.. i've had to fix them many times before

 

The screws stripped out so i had to drill the heads off. (and I tried to use the screw out kit but the screws were to rusted.) Is there anyway you can get the screw studs out of it?

 

I got the piston to go back in, it was a little off so I hooked it up to the air and it came right out.
