Default Best hard rear luggage for Kodiak/Grizzly 450

I am looking to get a medium to larger sized hard luggage box for the rear of my 06 Kodiak 450 4x4. I don't want the big bulky kind with the backrest, but I would like one that fits well and holds a food amount of stuff.

If you have first hand experience with one that you like for your Yamaha 400, 450, that share the same rear rack, please chime in.

I am thinking about the larger Kolpin box, but it looks a bit flimsy, but the dimensions look like it might fit well. Here is a link

Please post pics if you have them, thanks!

Hello Live2Shift--I would suggest the Tamarack Classic Standard box. It holds alot of stuff without being overly bulky. Its made for the more aggressive riders without the bulk and you can get the quick release system that will hold it in place SUPER SECURE without having to hard mount it--so off and on in seconds if you want (it comes with hard mount hardware). It has a full 2 year warranty and is not the least bit flimsy. I think you would be very happy with this box. Happy riding!!

Looks like the perfect Box, but I only have 12" behind the seat to the back of the rack, and this is 13 3/4. Any other options?

Mmmmmmm. Well the other option would be a Titan Structured Cargo Bag --which is 33 in long, 11 1/2 in. high, and just 9 1/2 in . wide. Awesome bag and very rigid, but not lockable like a box. The rear box you are considering looks like it is 17 1/2 wide--won't work either. Let us know what you came up with!!

Went with the Plano rear mount atv storage box. It is an almost exact perfect fit for the Kodiak 450 rear rack dimensions. Like it was made for it. Took me a week of research to find one that fit. I found a pic of one mounted to a 450 Kodiak. It also has the option of a removable Field Box that drops in to the side "wings" for only $13 buck more from Cabelas. I plan on putting my tools in there. Thanks for offering suggestions TAM. Hope this post save some others looking for a hard box for a Kodiak or Grizzly some time.
