Default Blaster Info

I just picked up a 2000 blaster for my son, its bone stock and needs some upgrades. Who's got the best hydraulic brake set up for the money for the rear. Next, I would like to change out the wheels and tires, the bike still has the stockers on it. The bike will mostly be trail and light track riding, maybe some holeshots or razers? Also are you guys sticking to the 21 inch rears or are you dropping down to 20's. I would like to find a package deal somewhere. Let me know what you think.

If he isn't racing it, then use the stockers. You can always change the sprokets a heck of a lot cheaper as well.

What really woke our Blaster up is we went to 18 in tires in the rear for a lower center of gravity and then went up 1 tooth on the front sprocket. Seems to be perfect, but it is only used on the track. Also what really helps is to go with aluminum rims. If you go with Douglas .125 you can pick them up reasonable and takes alot of the unsprung weight away. As far as the tires, for trail use it just depends on what you want to spend. Razors and holeshots are both good. I mean no disrespect to Dragginbutt but I don't like the stock tires, I think of them as balloon tires.

for a pipe, toomey has a good set-up but only if your not going to do engine mods like big bore kit and if you are gonna do the big bore kit or more check out trenga.....they got sick stuff...a lil pricey but it gives a crazy hp gain

The Toomey pipe is good, I run a Trenga syliner so they had to cut and add the manifold flange because the trenga is bigger. The Trenga cylinder was also opened up a little more with Delta V force 3 reeds and the head has been o ringed. This has really put a new meaning on a 200.

No disrespect taken. I just think spending money that you don't need to when all he is going ot do is trail riding is a waste. I come from the hard earned money old school.
