Default Building a Wolverine for Mud

Has anyone bored out their wolverine. It's winter up north so time for the little guy to go into the shop. I'm wondering if it's worth it or what else can be done to add to the power. I want to put 27" mud tires on and want to keep as much power as I can. also as for the tires right now I've got 26" Mud lites But I've blown one tire so I need to replace, Any answers what tires are the lightest and strongest

Is your bike a 350 0r 450?

you are on the right track as far as I have researched. there is not replacement for displacement. Anything over 25's on a 350 is not a good idea. even with 25's there are significant power loss issues. I've been in mud were the 350 could not turn the stock tires.

I too am interested in low end and mid range power.

I problably should mention that I have the 450 and have already put in a clutch kit and jet kit, Have not been able to find a full Exhaust with Manifold. But they really should have avoided the automatic trans.

Gahh I have a 350 with 25" mudlites,in 1st or second I have no problems spinning the tires in mud,but that is the problem in 3ft of thick mud nothing is going to help you except the trusty winch

Ok with the 450, so far there is no head pipe available. I have the GYTR pipe on mine, with filter, jetkit, and clutch kit.

Right now it is in about 150 pieces, having the 488 FST kit installed.

I can turn the tires on it right now with no problem, with 27s might bog it down a little though. I will post as soon as I get the quad back together and break it in on performance gains.
