I also started on one. Great machine for having fun on...if you aren't too tall. I agree with the comment on the brakes, they could be better. However, with proper adjustment they will lock the rear wheels. As far as reliability, I had mine for 3 years without a problem....take care of it and it will be bullet proof.

I have a pretty moded 86 trx250r.That is very fast.I also have a 1990 blaster I bought for 500 bucks blown up.I had it bored .025 over and got a a pro-x piston, cosmeti gaskets, slight porting mods for more low-mid and and a new uni filter. My 250r is fast so I have a pretty good idea of what power is and my blaster has more than enough to play around with!I bought new a new rear brake cable installed and adjusted it properly and the back brakes work fine. They have brand new pads and you have to adjust them about 1 once a week(if you ride it everyday)But they work pretty good.I am saving uo money now for a pro-circuit pipe and silencer for it.I am going to get some new reeds first.I has boyesen reeds now I think.but I can't really tell.It also has a vito's reed spacer.I think I am going to remove it though.

I dont personaly have one, But my cousin does. And his flies. He had his worked on i think its now a 240cc, piped and a bunch of other goodies. the only thing thats limiting him is the size it to narrow for the track. But i have seen him cleen up on alot bigger quads with no prob. Is it abike for me, no. im just to fat for the bike. If your like 170LBs or less i would recomend it. you can find them reallycheap used. And with a little work they will **** off alott of bigger bikes

I dont think it is a bad machine but the brakes are junk and I have seen and repaired a lot of gears and shift forks which can be spendy.

Well if the biggest problem is the brakes maybe i'll just look at buying a hydrolic brake kit for it an we already have the oil injecter blocked off so we dont have to worry about that. And I dont think i will have to worry about size considdering that i am only 13 and wiegh 125 and am 5 feet and four inches tall so i think it will be a good quad for me!
