I had some dual rate springs go out on my Stage III DS.. let's just say it toasted my head. Broke a valve and caused damage to the piston and the head. Head work was close to 3k! If you can replace the springs

That cylinder needs to be re-plated. I wouldn't sleeve it. . . you are asking for trouble!

Lots of guys running the Hot Cam Stage II without springs. I too like the idea of upgrading the springs but, in this case. . . I'm not sue it is needed. Definitely something to keep an eye on though.

I had my 700R cylinder sleeved by veleciraptor on raptor forums, I race and ride it hard at least 2-3 times a week Has held up great all season, still has great compression. The oem plating wore out on me a feww months off the showroom floor. bike still ran but smoked i thought it was just rings so tore done to rering and hone and found half my coating missing.

To each his own the nikasil didnt impress me though, i ride hard and it didnt hold up at all. Maintained the bike same on each cylinder. changed oil a few times a month, cleaned filter after every other ride, checked and adjusted valves as needed.

Depends who did the sleeve for you but id say you wont be disappointed.

As for install its pretty simple but the manual will come in handy. Id change the timing chain while your in there its only $11.00 well worth it mines was kinked and pretty tight

yea, i went to my local motorbike shop the other day and asked how much to install cams and valve springs if i just bought in the head, and they said about 80$.. they said are you planning to do the valve seats, and i said no, htey advised i should and that it would cost an extra 60$ probably, now im just gonna consiter stripping the bike of plastics and **** myself then having them do the whole motor job if its not too pricey...when i bring my cylinder into a machining shop can they sleeve/ plate it there? or do i need to order somthing from a bike shop and bring it to them?

they can probably sleeve it but wont be able to replate it, you will probably have to send it to someone like LA SLEEVE to have that done.

Hello, stage 2 hotcam dosent require heavier spring unless you go with the bigger valves.

hey i got new brake pads for the rear and am getting extreamly frusterated with them!!!! its basic **** i know, but the pad wont fit betwwen the rotor and the caliper. not the pad against the piston but the other one, there are 2 bolts on the outsides of the caliper, one of them is solid and the other is on a rubber insert so it can flex a little, but if i install the pads on the caliper the rotor wont fit between the connecting plate and the pad. and only one side adjusts. the other side has a alen key and im thinking it is treaded and will adjust but i have broke 2 tools trying to turn it. HELP PLEASE!
