how would you know if you blown your piston??????? Because i just got a blaster like a month ago and i was riding yesterday and it wasnt runniing at its performance. It was very cold yesterday and the day before that was warm. Is it maybe because of the temperature chane????If you know what the problem is i would apreciate the help.....Thanks!!!!!

If you blow the motor, either the piston will seize and you can't even kick it or it will lose all compression and be very easy to kick. Either way your engine would not run if it was blown. Cold weather will lean the engine out (same as not getting enough fuel), usually a "lean" engine runs BETTER than a "rich" (too much fuel) engine, so your case may not have anything to do with tempertaure. When was the last time you cleaned the filter and changed the sparkplug?

I have got to dis-agree with you about The engine not running if it is in need of a rebuild for a Two Stroke.... You can make any engine run blew up or not with gas and fire.. When it is time to rebuild the blaster it will not run at performance and will normally be hard to keep idleing....If your blaster is still running but barely you probably need to re-ring the piston unless your piston is damaged and it will still run even with a bad piston ...you will know when you take your jug off if you need head work and new piston....Worse case is your piston is done and jug need bored ..Even with that shouldnt cost 150$ to rebuild your top end...try a new NGK R racing plug and if that dont help your probably needing a re-build I hope this helps you bro

you can blow one...i had one that had a hole in the top off the piston. usually caused by using the wrong plug or the engine running too lean. non the less it can happen. can also shatter a piston if your oil pump isnt working. i learned that the hard way

You have every right to disagree with me. But, maybe our terminology is different. To me, a "blown" engine is just that - blown, done, fried, toasted, foshizzled - however you want to say it. And to me an engine that is in need of a rebuild would not be "blown" - yet. Yes, an engine needing rebuilding will not run at peak performance. Whenever I "blew" an engine, it would not start anymore, and trust me I have blown my fair share. And yes you can make an engine run with gas and fire but you need one more thing - compression. Usually when you blow an engine your piston or cylinder is scarred to the point you lose all compression and it will not run anymore. Maybe pm66balla has a SLIGHTLY scarred cylinder or piston and lost SOME compression, but hasn't been scarred to the point of losing ALL compression. A compression test will answer that question.

Couldnt have said it better myself I agreee with you saying it also needs compression but most of the time they will run a little bit even without what compression is needed thats why i said not at performance But either way its likes yiou said our terminology is just diffrent
