Default New 2006 wolverine 450

Hey guys, I just found out about this website and itseems to be pretty good. Well for christmas my dads girlfriend bought me a 2006 wolverine 450. Its stock and it has 250 miles. I was reading the reviews and pple love them. How do you other owners like them. Btw it is my first atv. What are some easy upgrades you guys have done? My max speed is 53 mph. I was looking for tires and they seem hard to find, although I like the maxxis' allready on there. What are some good tires people upgrade to after theres have worn off? Any tips/suggestions you have it would be great!
Thanks

Your dad's girlfriend bought it for you? Wow she's a keeper.

Start out with a new slip on exhaust, I would recommend HMF, a K&N air filter, and a Jet kit (DynoJet, FMF, or Moose. They are all basically the same kit. The dealer can install all the parts and jet your carb correctly AFTER installing the pipe and filter for usually $50 - $100).

I have a Wolvy 350 and as far as tires I like a few. I really like the ITP 589 m/s they hook up GREAT in mud and snow. I also really like the ITP Mud Lite XTR, don't get the Mud Lite AT, the lugs aren't near as deep. I haven't ridden the 450 but the 350 is really torquey so went up to a 25 inch tire rather than the stock 23 inch tires it'll give you more clearance but suck a little bit of bottom end torque but they work great on mine. With the performance upgrades they will give you a higher top speed as well.

Go to http://www.rockymountainatv.com and check out the different parts they have for your machine. They have a machine filter that you can use so you only look at the Wolverine parts. They have great prices as well.

Good luck and I hope that at least gives you a starting point.

What type of riding are you going to do... I have found that the stock tires are good for everything but heavy mud... I would get all the skid plates... A winch would help if you going to get muddy... Ride it a little before you start changing it you may find that the bike is good the way it is...

Welcome to the Wolverine club...

Yhea definetly keep the tires. Rims would be cool. If you wanted to do a pipe, filter and jet kit it will give you a little more power.

First thing I did was all of the skid plates and the GYTR radiator guard just incase, so that way I wouldnt get a stick through the radiator and ruin any riding time and also save on the price of a rad later on down the road.

I did the same thing... You never know... I would get a wench too... $99 and it could save you...

Tip for sound is only $40...

ok, so mabye ill look into some arm skid plates. Does any one have a picture of the bottom of how it is stock? Are there any skid plates to begin with? How much was a radiator cover? Where did you get it? Also for the winch(the thing i want the most) are the off brands even worth buying? I know warn is one of the best. Any info/help on winches would be sweet.
