2007 wolverine "power question"
I purchased a 2007 wolverine 450. My question is, what can I really expect from a slip-on pipe, air filter, and jet kit? I'm not expecting 30mph wheelees, but, what should I expect? Worth the money? Thanks in advance. And yes I'm loving this thing!!!!!!!! Leigh

You can expect about a 15-25% power gain. It will make a huge difference in the way it runs on both the bottom end and the top end. You could also change your springs in the tranny to get more power also. HMF makes a great pipe for that bike and you can get the whole kit to put it all on. You will most likely need to do some air box mods if you do the pipe. Just be careful on what mods you do for your normal riding conditions. good luck and ride hard

I raced a buddy of mine who also has a wolverine 450 both before and after I did my mods. When we were both stock, we were running pretty much dead even. After my pipe, clutch work, jets, and filter, I pull him off the line and keep pulling all the way until I top out.
He also has a grizzly 700, and I raced that before and after too. Stock, he smoked me from start to finish. Now, I get him off the line up until 25-30 and he pulls about 10' ahead of me, and slowly pulls away because he tops out at about 63 and Im done at about 59.
Overall, I definitely think its worth it. This was my first time really modding a quad, so I didnt know what to expect in the performance gains....Im happy with the outcome, and wouldnt change a thing if I were to do it over again.
If you want to hear the difference in the sound of the pipes, go to youtube and type in Wolverine HMF, you should find a few sound clips of 450's with the HMF pipe. Do the same thing for Wolverine GYTR and Im sure you will find a few of wolvys with the GYTR pipe. I listened to both before I decided to go with the HMF, I liked the tone a little better.

I actually think the GYTR is a little quiter but I am not completely sure. I have not have a chance to compare them in person so i dont know.
Yes I can definetly feel an improvment in the power throughout the band.
The clutch kit from EPI is for bottom end torque. If you want more top end talk to hauck racing and they will remachine your factory primary clutch to give you more power throughout and a little more top speed.
