Have a 03 kodiak 450.Nothing happens when I put it in low gear,indicator light on dash does not come on either. Is there something I can look for before I take it to a dealer. THANKS.

 

just cause the light doesn't come on doesn't mean it didn't lock in. The light on my grizz 450 doesn't always come on when i put it in low....or park or any of that

 

Are you saying it doesn't move? Mine is a little hard to get into low. You kind of have to work at it a bit.

 

It does not move at all. I have tried working it in but no luck.

 

I am not sure how it works, have you checked to see if the linkage can be adjusted?

 

The linkage on the Kodiak/Grizzly 450's for Low is tricky at best.. it took about 5-6 tries adjusting the length of the rod to get it to Finally go in easily...

Thanks CRAZYSTEVE I now feel better that I did not loose low gear all together,but it is so touchy a quater turn throws of some of the other gears.I will keep working with it but I think something may be a little worn out. Keep you informed.

 

i'm having that same problem with my 400 kodiak but when i'm in neutral its in gear as in high if i put in any others and try and give it gas all it does is stall it out or grunt like its trying but it wont move
