My girlfriends 250 bear tracker went unused for 5 or 6 months. Put in new battery, changed spark plug and air filter. Also drained all the old gas out and replaced. It will start up with choke out but wont keep running with choke off. After two or three minutes it won't even turn over with the choke out. Anyone know where i should start? I would appreciate any help.

 

The pilot jet in the carb is plugged up. The center hole is so small, that it will be tough to clean out. Buy a new one at the dealer, and make sure if the quad sits for more than a day, that the float bowl is drained. Either turn the gas to off and run the motor til it dies, or use the drain on the bottom of the float bowl, and the jet wont plug again.
