Default Raptor Headlight help

I've read the previous posts on this, and it seems that everyone else is having moisture issues. Mine is electrical, I've tried cheap Walmart lights, a $4O driving light setup, and have tried the trail tech setup. I keep blowing the bulbs, the trail techs actually "blew up" inside the casing. They usually go one at a time. I have an LED tail light used for trailers and semi trucks in the back. What would cause this?

Sounds like the voltage regulator isnt doing its job. Check the voltage with a voltmeter, at idle , and as you rev it up. It shouldnt get over 14.5 volts.

Get a voltmeter and see what your charging voltage is when the engine is running, both at idle and with the rpms up higher, say 5,000 rpms or something. You're looking for something around 14.5-15 volts, if it's much higher than that and you found your problem.

I'd agree, this sounds like a problem with the voltage regulator. Without a voltage regulator your stator's output is uncontrolled, and as the engine's rpms increase, so will the voltage. I had a voltage regulator on my van only working intermittently, and at random times my headlights would instantly go from the normal brightness to 3 times as bright pure white light like HIDs, the heater fan doubled in speed, the windshield wipers would go twice as fast, etc. Put a new regulator in it, problem solved.

So I finally got around to testing it and it reads 14.23 at both idle and while reving... Could it be possible that it is intermittently working? I know that when I've wired driving lights on cars they required a relay....would this help in regulating it? Oh, and the LED tail light that still works without issue.....

If there is any type of moisture in the headlamp on it gets onto a hot bulb it will cause it to blow. This also might be happening to you!

That's not it either. I've put on lights fresh out of the box just before a ride and they were toast 2 hours into the ride....

And I forgot to mention, I've even hooked up lights to the battery using a switch under the seat and it fried the switch, then i hard wired the lights to the battery and haven't had them blow up....yet anyway.
