Default 87 warrior accelerator pump

when i hit the throttle quick it bogs down and if i hit it quick and hold it, it cuts out. i believe it's my accelerator pump.? my question is does anybody know how to fix it? is it just replacing the rod set (rod, spring, and little rubber boot) or is it more indepth? i was thinking mybe i would have to do something with the plastic lever behind the throttle but i'm not sure.

also the other day i noticed that my rear shock is leaking???? does this mean it's time for a new one or is it fixable???

have you checked your parking brake or reverse rev limiter? that could be you problem. and as far as a shock, I may have one for you next week, whenever i get the new ones for my 97.

I'm assuming the carb is the same as the other Warriors I've seen, the accelerator pump is a problem with them, the spring is extremely weak, causing the pump rod to jam down and stay down. The best thing to do is to take the bowl off, clean out the passage and make sure the rod isn't hanging up, then replace the spring with one from an ink pen, the old click style. The spring is the same length and diameter, but about 5 times stiffer, making sure the rod always goes back. I used one in my 95 Wolverine (same carb as Warrior, until they changed it in 96), and neve had a problem in years.

here's the update..... i took the carb apart today to fix my accelerator pump and come to find out there was no nut holding the arm that lifts the rod to pump the fuel, it fell off and was laying on the side of the cover. so i put it back on and put a nut on it and i also did that ink pen spring and BAM works perfectly now.

thanks for the help
