Default YFZ 450 or Raptor 660?

Hi guys, I'm just tryin to get some opinions as to which quad I should be getting here...I got a choice between an '05 raptor 660 or an '07 YFZ 450. I dont know which quad to get because they both look nice to me. I'm trading in my Banshee and I want a nice 4 stroke so I can cut down on the maintenance a bit...I'm lookin for a more easy ride where I can cruise around the yard at low speeds when I want to and still have the power available for when I want to go climb some big hills...I suppose both quads will do that very easily but I want to get some details on the pros and cons of each bike...I know for sure I want to get away from the banshee for a while...no offense to the 'shee riders....thanks in advance

Don't go for the 660. I'm not a fan of those things either. They feel tippy and not near the power of a 450. 450 wants to rev sure you can put across your yard with it but when you go for those hill shoots she needs to be rev'n. (Makes it more fun to me.)The plus for the 700 raptor is that it will still make power down low.

I'd love to buy a rappy 700 but I live in a pretty small place and the nearest dealers are about an hour east or west of my location. One dealer has the 660 and the other has the 450 and they're both tryin to sell me out lol...If I found an available 700 for around $5500 I would go for it cuz that's my budget but I gotta choose between what's available for me and for which dealers are willing to take a banshee for a trade in...alot of em around here wont...but yeah my options are limited and I just wanted to get some good opinions form guys who have actually rid either one of these quads...they both sound good, look good, but the 450 seems to be on top of things over the rappy...I'm about 6ft and 180 pounds so would the 450 still put out some power?

Dude I'm 6'2" 237. I was 260 when I got the 450 and ya, It'll put out some power. More than the 660. I'm like the casual rider who likes to shoot some hills and play around. The 450 is a blast for me and has no problems getting me anywhere in a hurray.

The 660 does seem top heavy and narrow but, does have reverse I believe. It probably is a better trail rider.

Pro's rappy...lots and lots of torque for the trails, not to meantion fast, good throttle response maybe b/c of the fuel injection, also reverse!!
Con's rappy...prolly wanna get a axle so it's not as top heavy, but for trails, i wouldn't worry about it, and it's heavy so it's a lil harder to muscle around, not that many cons

Pro's yfz...i'm a bit in favor of the yfz b/c i have one, i love it, but i ride in all conditions, it's low center of gravity, so high speed turns and not flipping aren't issues, not to meantion it's light so it's very quick, good accel.
Con's yfz...can be a PIA sometimes, haha once you get the kinks worked out, it's an awesome bike, i only had 2 problems with it, but if you get a 07 or later, they won't be an issue, other downside is......no reverse

hope this helps bud, just my 2 cents

The 450 would probably be better for you. Both are good, fast trail machines. To me, the 660 is more comfortable for long trail rides and has reverse. The 450 is faster and sticks to the ground better in fast turns. The aftermarket has anything you want for 450's, where it seems like they forgot all about the 660. Also $5500 sounds steep for a 660. I see clean '04-05 models selling for $3800-4200 all the time.
