About half a year ago i got a 07 wolverine 450 se which is great. The only thing that worries me is the lack of power and top speed so i am thinking about getting a 07 raptor 700 se which is more powerful. I was wondering if anyone could answer these questions about the raptor.
1) Because i am new to driving atv's, i dont know how to change gear with a clutch on a raptor, can someone briefly explain how?
2) Does the chain break often and is it a hassle to change?
3) What speed does it top out at.
4) Would you say that the raptor would beet a kfx700 in a drag race?

It is not something that is real easy to explain on a forum, It is much easier in person.

but let the clutch out slowly while easing on the gas, pull the clutch in every time you shift.

 

so you are new to ATV's and no idea how to shift,yet one of your top four worries is can it beat kfx in a drag race??I hope you have good medical insurance there,sounds to me you are going to need it..

 

ctateusa: no i havent ridden any of those all i have is a wolverine 450 which is awesome. toddmh: yea i was wondering if it is faster than a kfx not so that i can race them just because i am ttrying to chose between a raptor 700 and a kfx700

Chain shouldn't really ever break. If you break a chain you are going to probably have other big problems as well.

 

Top speed should be about 75mph I think there's a post on this forum discussing just this topic
