All I know is after the Hauck clutch work, I gained a lot more bottom end torque. I took mine out last weekend and hit a long straight and got it up to 57-58. It was plenty fast for what I need it to do. I do more trail riding and really wanted to get more bottom end out of it and so far it has lived up to the "hype".
I do question one thing ss454 mentioned was the grease blowing out into the cover. I haven't pulled the cover off mine to see what kind of mess I have underneath the cover, but, I wonder what kind of ill effects this may have on it?
No grease on the rollers or grease slinging somewhere other than the rollers doesn't seem too good.
Am I overlooking something?</end quote></div>
The main ill effects this would have on it would be slipping of the belt(can attest to first hand.)

How hard is it to do the work yourself? I've never really done any clutch work, but I'm pretty handy and just ordered the shop manual. Is taking out the sheave something I should attempt on my own or pay somebody to do it? I want to get the Hauck clutchwork done......how long did it take from the time you sent it to the time you had it back?

takin it apart was easy won't take you that long. it took 9 days from the time i ups'ed it until i got it back thats counting weekends.hauck only had it for 2 days. much more power down low havn't had a chance to go wide open yet other than on blocks and that reached 59 mph i happy
