Default ultimate trail machine?

A modded Wolverine 350 is an entirely different animal than a stock one. Far as im concerned the new wolvy 450 is inferior to the 350 but to each their own opinion. Slip on and filter with jetting will give you a much better kick out of the motor. I too went with a higher compression piston and a new camshaft thatmade a big difference. Yeah the suspension isnt the best if it doesnt work then get a set of works shocks, but i never had a shock problem with my wolvy. As for handling get some 1.5" wheel spacers and it will handle like a completely different machine. a 424 select so you can go 2x4 is also a must. To put it in perspective I used to own a quadzilla and I loved riding that in the woods too but i had to get rid of one to get my jetboat and the wolverine does just about EVERYTHING as I have mine set up and is the best all around choice.

z400 is a great trail machine too...... although the new Raptors are faster and very nice as well I think the z400 handles better and has better ergonomics...

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE STOCK RAPTOR SUSPENSION IS PROBOBLY THE BEST SOCK SUSPENSION ON A SPORT TRAIL BIKE THERE IS NEXT TO A KTM 525 BUT THOSE ARE ALLOT OF AFTERMARKT PARTS FROM OLIN THAT COME STOCK. THEY (THE RAPTOR) ARE ABOUT THE SAME AS YFZ.

to each their own..BTW your caps key is stuck..Or are you yelling at me lol..All Yamaha OEM shocks are crap..Just ask all those guys that race YFZ's..They all buy ELKA's and have them reworked by a suspension guy..No OEM Yamaha ATV shock is better than most aftermarket set ups.I've been researching this for months now,I know..

WE ARE TALKING STOCK VS STOCK NOT AFTERMARKET AND THE RAPTOR SUSPENSION IS HARD TO BEAT WITHOUT SPENDING MORE MONE ON AFTERMARKET PARTS. ESP. THE 08 RAPTORS WITH PIGGYBACK SHOCKS!

the Raptor is a awesome bike I agree,If I had the money I'd buy one..But The first thing I would upgrade on it is the suspension..I have 4 Yamaha dealers in close distance to my house, every tech guy I talk to say the same thing..Yamaha shocks are cheap garbage..But I guess for sand or smooth trail riding they will do,But for the nasty stuff I ride in..You yould **** blood from the beating you take..But the stuff I ride the Raptor wouldent last long anyway without getting hung up on some nasty stuff lol,can you put a winch on a Raptor??

'08 and up YFZ and Raptors come with the Special Edition shocks and they're much better than the original stockers! Raptor is a great trail riding sport bike IMO. The Honda 450r isn't too bad either though...
