Default HELP! Dirt in motor!

and dont say why so slow. if you took it out and played with it and got muddy you would understand that you don't need to go faster than 53.mph. and going back to the carb common sense says yes please turn off the fuel. and then you'll see a screw at the bottom by the bowl that has a hose coming out right by it. loosen that until the fuel is drained from the bowl. as for when you take it apart pieces shouldn't come flying out as you say. you will have to take the float and needle assembly apart. then you'll notice little brass fittings that have a flat tip screw driver slot. once you remove them you'll see there is a tiny hole in the center. ensure that it is free of any crap. then when you pull the one out in the center it will be fairly long and have holes running up the sides just make sure they are clear also. and you can go to your local parts store and buy some Carb cleaner. it's really not a hard process. and another thing you might want to do just for your FYI is go to ebay or something and search for a manual you can download them for like 6 to 9 dollars and it's alot cheaper than buying it from the dealer. once you figure out how to get into the carb when you decide to take the training wheels off and get an after market pipe, air cleaner, and a jet kit. you'll be able to do the jeting yourself which will save you money and depending on the time of year altitude ect. you'll need to mess with the jetting to get it just right. usually one size up will work just fine. good luck with it and go do everyone a favor and get it stuck at least once and you'll think to yourself man i wish i had a 4x4.

Right now my sheave is on the way back from Hauck. It would be a close race and I have no doubt I'd take him. My top end should be at least 57 with the Hauck work done. Right now I can only get 53 but man it gets there quick...

Viper5, thank you. That really put me at ease. Thanks a million! Do they make a spray that you just spray down the air duct or do you have to take the carburetor out and spray the inside?

I haven't been on in a while, How did you do with you carb cleaning??
