Default throttle cable

i just got a new throttle cable for my 87 warrior and it seems that no matter how i run it to the carb the cable is about an inch too short........?

the adjusters are all the way in so i have the most amount of slack i can get. is there a certain way it runs to the carb? i tried over the handle bars and under the handles bars. i'm stumped......

It should run infront of the handle bars and right down underneath/next to the bottom of the gas tnk and frame rail on the right side.

Do you have it to far out on your bars? Or aftermrket bars, that might be wider?

i don't think so...... the old cable fit perfect, but it was cracked and frayed which is why i replaced it. don't you mean on the left side not the right side? i have renthal handle bars but their not wider or fatter than stock. the cable is the right one and it's the same length as the old one. it's weird that this one doesn't want to fit right.

right side sitting on the bike....
If everything is the same, you have to have something in the wrong place.

ok, i checked to see if it was caught on something and it's not. i can't figure this out. i have the new cable routed the same way the old one was. when i attach the cable to the carb it's fine and the throttle body is all the way down on the idle screw. but when i hook it on to the thumb throttle it raises the throttle body in the carb a little bit. there is no slack in the new cable at all, and all the adjusters are all the way in.

i was just thinking about putting the old cable back on. but i really don't want to with it being cracked.

Is their a rubber boot at the either end of the cable? The cable may not be seated properly . just a suggestion.
