Default Frustrated Timberwolf

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 92 Timberwolf that has never let me down in 16 years, but last fall I started it up one morning and it idled fine, but died as soon as I pushed the throttle.

I have good compression (wet and dry), good spark, timing is good, I rebuilt the carb (except I feel like that is still the problem, bad kit maybe), i put a new muffler on (the old one was really bad), new air filter, flushed the gas tank, and no change. Please help, I'm out of ideas.

Thanks,

sounds to me like you have an air leak some where maybe a crack in your connector boot from carb to motor. or one of your vent lines is clogged.. good luck

try it without the airfilter on, DONT ride it like that, but start it up and see if theres a diffrence when you hit the throttle, if so it might be a clogged pilot jet. Could be the TORS if they have it on that model, throttle overide BS..

I'm with you on the air leak, I just have not been able to find it. Is there any way to check that boot or do I have to just buy one and try it.
Thanks!

I've tried the air filter, replaced the pilot jet, still no go. I don't believe this antique has the TORS, but I'll check.

Thanks!

take some starting fluid and spray it around the conecting boots ect. if there is a leak you should notice a slight increase in idle.
