DON'T remove the thermostat. Replace it with a new one. Yours could be worn out. Have you flushed out your radiator lately?. It could be clogged with gunk, both inside and out.

If you are mud riding a muddy deposit builds of on the radiator cooling fins. Spary them down with PB Blaster to remove the flim and it should help with the cooling.

I have seen some of the mud machines that mount an auxilliary radiator on there machines. I think was on highlifter I saw it.
