Sportsman rev limiter in forward

I have a 2002 Sportsman 400 4x4 with a huge problem. In drive, the machine acts like the rev limiter is engaged like it would be normally in reverse. I don't know what or where the problem is. Please Help ASAP!!!

does the over ride work?

if not sounds like exaust blockage

I have the same problem on my 2002 grizzly! Was running fine and then all of a sudden lost power and started missing and backfireing. Runs fine at idle and low speed
