Default Warrior Rebuild

I need to rebuild the old warrior since it is burning oil now. I was looking at the wiseoc piston and was wondering if i had to bore it out or if i could use standard size. how much does it cost to have it bored? i was also wondering if the cylinder walls are chrome lined or not? the last question i have is what do i have to buy to install the webcam properly? do need new valves or valve guides or do i just need the cam and the HD springs?

thank you

First is yes you should bore it out due to the age of the machine. Second I have heard good and bad about using the wiseco pistons in these, I put a JE 366 (85mm) in mine and it works great but it is kinda like web vs hot cam. I also did a web 390 with new HD springs and seals, I checked the guides and they were ok. So if you know what your looking for or take it somewhere they can probably tell you if the head needs rebuilt. My sugestion would be to go with a 366 with the web 390(cam size depends on how/where you ride) it was a major difference from stock. I did the cam first which help out but then had to tear it down to replace a shift fork so I decided to do the piston then and the 366 and this really woke it up.

The Wiseco piston is not the best choice for a Warrior. The JE piston is better, and weighs less than the Wiseco. You can get a standard size JE, but I would go with a .20 over size. Around here it costs $40 to bore a cylinder at the local machine shop. The cylinder is not lined like on the 450. The Webcam just needs heavy duty valve springs, but new seals would be recommended so you don't have problems with them later, and that may be part of your oil burning anyway. Plus they are cheap and easy to replace. If I were you, I would buy all the parts and when they come in, head on over to the machine shop with the head and cylinder and new parts, and have them bore it to match the new piston and install the new valve seals.

Plus the .430" Webcam is a good choice and costs the same as a .390".
