Default MOTO 4 's have 2 projects need info help diagrams...

So I picked up a 1986? yfm 225 in red this weekend at the swap meet... for $75

So now I have to see what is wrong wih it.. For starters i need the pull start assembly

I was hoping that someone here has taken on one of these beasts and can shot me some info on this project.

The other my 1987 moto4 100cc champ that I let all the oil burn out of it and i siezed it {its tough being polish!} Not sure where to start with this one.... most likely start by pulling the head?

Well, I have what I believe is an 88 YFM225 Moto4 , I say I believe Because I could not find the VIN Badge anywhere, engine has an inscription with 223 thus 255cc , but I did my research and found some pics that confirm my guess.
I 've also found a fair resource for diagrams on centralyamaha.com in the oem catalog, though it does not includes part # 's . Currently im on the search for parts for mine, and found some on Ebay, but mostly the part + shipping does not cut as a nice deal. Usually the shppingis to high for a rusty old part. Actually where did you find the vin badge located?

If you are sitting on the quad on the drivers side {left side } on the frame itself look before and afer the foot peg on that side... Again on the frame stamped into it... Get a bright light and see if tou can see the VIN...

Send me more info here...

I brought the 87 champ from the dead also!
